Education, and educators, have always been central to my life. My mother was an elementary guidance counselor for over 20 years and my father spent his life in school education, rising from high school assistant principal to Unit Director of Federal Programs in the State Department of Education. My wife is an educator of 18 years teaching primarily North Charleston students, where she was named CCSD’s Teacher of the Year before transitioning to work on curriculum and instruction at the district level. Both my children attended D3 schools and both will be going to CCSD schools for the next several years.

Naturally, when it came time for me to find work, I gravitated to education. As a former teacher, I’ve taught students across a range of ages and in various types of schools. From substitute-teaching Kindergarten to my time as an adjunct professor at Trident Tech, from teaching at a private boarding school to leading classes filled with students from a Title I school. My life has been spent working with students and parents through all aspects of education.
